We are using mobile since 19th century. Mobile phones has starting with heavy weights. First mobile phones were composed in 1960 with weight of 40KG containing relays and vacuum tubes. With better technologies, it was transformed into push-button telephone, calling enhanced facilities. It was Motorola who composed first hand-held mobile phone.
First mobile phones technology was CDMA. In this scenario, many devices are connected with same spread spectrum. With one physical channel and special code for every device in network. With GSM standard, style of mobile phones has been changed. In this standard entire network is divided into hexagonal cells that's why called cell phones. Each cells contains tower and associated with mobile phones.
But why one step towards GSM.? Is CDMA not supportable to many connection or company wants better technologies. This is clear by comparison b/w GSM and CDMA. With CDMA technology, no noise, echo or network errors cannot be introduced. This is total free better than GSM. Then why GSM?
GSM provides flexibility like carries, one can have different networks like O2, Three, Airtel and more. GSM mobile phone are worldwide supported and can call from anywhere. Both technologies GSM and CDMA have same coverage, speed and building penetration. They are also equal to next step.
But with their merits and demerits GSM always wins over CDMA and allow to us call our loved one.;)
